The Friends of Hickory Nut Gorge advocate for the natural beauty, biodiversity and wildlife habitat, along with the ecological health and integrity of Hickory Nut Gorge.

The Friends of Hickory Nut Gorge urge everyone to consider and support strong county ordinances to protect our steep slopes, mountain ridges and unique biodiversity, particularly in identified natural heritage areas.

THANK YOU to the more than 60 people who attended our second invasive plant workshop September 24.
Many people brought plants to be identified and had their questions answered by our plant experts.

Thanks to our very own Travis Smith, Clint Calhoun, Chimney Rock Park Superintendent, Adrianne Wallace, The Nature Conservancy
and attendees from Henderson, Polk, Rutherfordton and Buncombe County.
Thanks also to Lakeside Pizza who provided the wonderful food.

If you attended our workshop, please sign our GUEST BOOK and give us your feedback on what you liked and what you would like to see us do in the future.
We are planning an invasive plant workday in the near future. Check here for more details.
