Ways To Save Water And Money

As the drought intensifies across North Carolina, here are a few tips to help conserve water in your home:

  • Get a rain barrel or add a cistern to collect an emergency backup supply
  • Use greywater to water flower gardens NOT VEGATABLE GARDENS!
  • Fix leaky faucets
  • Put up a clothes line and dry your laundry outside (the energy you don't use saves water too!)
  • Take shorter showers
  • Use the dishwasher wisely
  • Check your toilet and...if it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown,
         flush it down!
